Commitment to Carbon-Neutral Operations by 2027
Comprehensive sustainability program includes electric vehicle fleet and renewable energy
Legacy GoldTransit announces an ambitious sustainability initiative aimed at achieving carbon-neutral operations by 2027. This comprehensive program addresses every aspect of our environmental impact, from vehicle emissions to facility energy consumption.
Key components of our sustainability program include:
**Electric Vehicle Fleet**: We're transitioning our entire ground transportation fleet to electric armored vehicles. The first 20 vehicles will be deployed in Q2 2025, with full fleet conversion by 2027.
**Renewable Energy**: All Legacy GoldTransit facilities will be powered by 100% renewable energy sources by the end of 2026. Solar panels are being installed at our major hubs, and we've secured renewable energy contracts for all locations.
**Carbon Offset Programs**: For air freight operations, we're investing in verified carbon offset projects, including reforestation initiatives in Africa and renewable energy projects in developing nations.
**Sustainable Packaging**: We're developing eco-friendly packaging solutions that maintain security standards while reducing environmental impact.
"As a company operating in the precious metals industry, we have a responsibility to protect not just our clients' assets, but also our planet," stated Sarah Williams, Chief Operating Officer. "This initiative reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable business practices."
The program has received endorsement from several environmental organizations and positions Legacy GoldTransit as an industry leader in sustainable logistics.
